Mercedes-Benz Issues Recall on Select 2011MY E-Class Sedans and Estates

Daimler AG is conducting a voluntary recall campaign on certain 2011MY Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans (chassis code W212) and Estates (chassis code S212) to inspect, and if necessary, replace a potentially defective auto part. The recall will include approximately 41 E-Class models in the States manufactured from July 8, 2010, through July 12, 2010.

Brabus Presents the World�s First Euro 6 Compliant Performance Kit for Diesel Models

Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist Brabus has presented a new ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit for the S350 BlueTec, and by doing so, the company claims to have created the world�s first tuned diesel-powered car that meets the Euro 6 emissions standard, scheduled to go into effect in 2014. Available for both rear-while drive and 4MATIC four-wheel drive variants, the kit delivers an additional 55HP and 70 Nm (52 lb-ft) of torque, for a total of 313HP and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft).

Binz Xtend E-Class Estate Asks The Question: A Hearse for a Daily Driver?

In 1961, the Checker Motors Corporation, makers of the ubiquitous Checker cab, decided � for whatever reason � to offer a civilian version to private buyers. Called the Superba, you won�t be surprised to learn it was a complete financial flop. Checker went back to making taxi cabs, no doubt thankful they didn�t try to market a civilian hearse instead.

Flash forward to 2011. At the Essen Motor Show in December of last year, European specialist coachbuilder Binz announced the Xtend E-Class estate, and now the car has entered production. By slotting in an extra 861 mm between the rear doors and rear axle, Binz have extended the estate�s cargo volume to a whopping 2620 litres. That�s better than some vans.

Over the years, Mercedes-Benz has released many TV ads featuring two-time Formula 1 World Champion Mika H�kkinen and other renowned pilots, most ending with a funny twist. The Stuttgart-based automaker's latest commercial to hit the web, called �Sunday Driver�, follows a similar recipe. This time, Mercedes chose a hilarious way to promote its 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system. To shake things up, Michael Schumacher also makes an appearance, alongside a good-looking female driver.

Here are the first pictures and details of VAETH's Mercedes-Benz E350 CDI-based V35 sports saloon. The German tuning house starts by tweaking the engine management software and as a result, power is lifted to 267HP and torque is boosted to an impressive 595 Nm (438 lb. ft.). Optioning the aluminum intercooler pushes those figures up to 285HP and a whopping 650 Nm (479 lb. ft.).

2011 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Receives Subtle Interior Refinements

The almighty Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is entering the 2011 model year with some interior revisions in the form of "ARTICO" leather appointments on the upper section of the dashboard and door beltlines and new black piano lacquer finish trim on the upper section of the center console.

In addition to these standard upgrades, Mercedes-Benz is also offering new optional appointments with the introduction of the "Designo Leather II" in which the lower section of the dashboard, the glove compartment lid, the door linings including map pockets and the side upholstery of the centre console are covered in exclusive nappa leather.
