Renault PricesTandem-Seat Twizy EV at �6,900

Renault announced today that its 1+1 tandem-seat electric vehicle will go on sale at the end of 2011 with a starting price of �6,900 (US$9,500), including taxes. The Twizy could be even cheaper to buy in countries where electric cars qualify for incentives.

VIDEO: SAAB Design Boss Jason Castriota Talks PhoeniX

We've already brought you the news on Saab's PhoeniX concept that's built on the underpinnings of the next 9-3 series and is on display at the Geneva Motor Show, but the Swedes have just released a video with the firm's new Design Director Jason Castriota giving us a tour of the 2+2 coupe.

In the video after the break, Castriota explains the PhoeniX's bespoke design features and its significance for the future of Saab product design starting off with the next generation of the 9-3 which is scheduled for release in 2012.

Toyota Shows Yaris HSD Concept in Geneva, Production Model to Follow in 2012

Toyota premiered its first superimini hybrid model based on the next-generation Yaris at the Geneva Motor Show today. The Yaris HSD Concept is essentially a teaser version of the production hybrid model that Toyota will launch in Europe in 2012.

In a similar fashion to the Auris HSD before it, the Hybrid Synergy Drive version of the Yaris features some bespoke styling cues that separate it from its conventional sibling. These include the large trapezoidal lower grille, the vertical �aero� corners housed in the front bumper that minimise air turbulence and the rear reflectors in the rear bumper. Other changes include the 18-inch rims, specially designed to aid brake cooling.

Subaru Showcases its Upcoming RWD Coupe's Platform Enwrapped in a See-Through Plastic Body

If you were waiting to see a concept of the Subaru flavored version of the rear-wheel drive Toyota FT-86 at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, tough luck because the Japanese automaker simply displayed the car's chassis in a clear plastic body. Subaru didn't comment on exterior wrap, though there's a good chance that the shape may hint at the styling of the production coupe.

Geneva 2011: Jaguar�s Spicy Hot 550HP XKR-S [Updated]

In 2010, Indian-owned British car maker Jaguar introduced the XKR Speed Pack: the fastest XK yet built. Twelve months later and the Big Cat is back in the form of the XKR-S with even more power and a slicker, more track-focused profile. ROAD CARS has all the pics and details on the brand�s 550 hp behemoth.

With a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h) and a 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) time of just 4.2 seconds, the XKR-S is the most powerful mass production vehicle Jaguar has ever built. It�s expected to carry a price tag of �97,000 (US$157,926 / �114,265) when it launches in September of this year.
